Indonesian Palm Oil Association

Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (GAPKI)

The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), known in English as the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), is a legal entity domiciled in Jakarta with branches in provinces throughout the Republic of Indonesia and representatives abroad.

GAPKI is independent — it is not a government organisation, not a political organisation, and not part of any such organisation. In carrying out its activities, GAPKI is non-profit.

GAPKI was established on 27 February 1981 for an indefinite period.

Principles & Foundation

GAPKI is based on Pancasila and runs the organisation on a constitutional foundation and organisational decisions.

Functions and Principal Duties

GAPKI serves as a body that champions and advocates the palm oil industry domestically and internationally, and acts as a representative, communication, consultation and facilitation forum for its members.

  1. 01 Empowering members to play an optimal role in developing the Indonesian palm oil industry.
  2. 02 Cooperating with the government to improve the competitiveness of the upstream palm oil industry, and building cooperation with institutions at home and abroad.
  3. 03 Acting as mediator or facilitator in resolving disputes arising between members, or between a member and another party, when requested by a member.
  4. 04 Representing the palm oil industry in various policy-making forums for the palm oil industry and other necessary forums.
  5. 05 Developing activities in research, extension, training, information, promotion, marketing, advocacy, consultation, discussion, seminars and other activities that can improve member performance.
  6. 06 Encouraging members to maximise mutually beneficial partnerships with palm oil smallholders through farmer institutions.
To realise a sustainable national palm oil industry as a source of prosperity for the nation and the state.

  3. 03 To be a strategic partner of the Central and Regional Governments in formulating policies conducive to a sustainable palm oil industry.
  4. 04 To encourage members to implement good and sustainable palm oil industry governance.
  5. 05 To enable the Indonesian palm oil industry to compete internationally.

Goals

Tujuan organisasi diterjemahkan ke dalam penguatan kapasitas anggota, iklim usaha yang kondusif, advokasi, keberlanjutan, dan sinergi kebijakan.

  1. 01 To foster and develop the capabilities, activities and interests of Indonesian palm oil entrepreneurs, and to balance the interconnections between the potentials of palm oil entrepreneurs.
  2. 02 To encourage the creation of a conducive palm oil industry climate.
  3. 03 To help improve members' capability to achieve a sustainable palm oil industry.
  4. 04 To facilitate and advocate in resolving problems faced by the palm oil industry.
  5. 05 To develop synergy with the government and regional governments in setting policies related to the palm oil industry.
