JAKARTA – Indonesia is ready to hold the International Sustainability Forum (ISF) on 4 – 6 September this year in a bigger scale than that of last year. It will be organized under a collaboration between the maritime and investment coordinating ministry (Kemenko Marves) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
“The success of Indonesia Sustainability Forum last year has shown a concrete opportunity for Indonesia to initiate and lead a global collaboration in realizing a fair and equal opportunity for all countries in implementing the decarbonization,” Kemenko Marves’ Deputy in charge of transportation and infrastructure coordination, Rachmat Kaimuddin said on Friday (22/03/2024).
Deputy Rahmat said that to maintain the momentum, the ISF has been now transformed into the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF), which is scheduled to be held on 4-6 September 2024.
“Hopefully, the name transformation will further strengthen the position of ISF as an international forum on sustainable growth and climate change which affects the global order,” he said.
The event, which will be held in Jakarta, will become the biggest sustainability conference in Indonesia and event at global level. It will be attended by policy makers from many countries, international experts, and global investors, who are expected to establish partnerships on sustainability to accelerate the growth of global green economy.
The sustainability forum will also function as an important platform for developed countries and developing countries in tackling the climate change problems.
The ISF is expected to result in solutions for the financial and non-financial problems. The non-financial problems include technology, human resources, international policies and collaborations, which are the key factors in accelerating the sustainable development.
Therefore, the ISF 2024 will focus on five pillars of discussions, namely green economy, energy transition, biodiversiy and nature conservation, sustainable living and blue economy. (*)
