Despite Rise, Replanting Realization In 2023 Still Below Target

JAKARTA – The Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Board (BPDPKS) is continually committed to implementing programs set by the government. The programs include the replanting program for smallholders’ oil palm plantations, which saw a significant increase of realization in 2023 but still below target.

“In terms of fund distribution, last year the replanting fund distribution significantly increased by 62.8% from Rp1.054 billion in 2022 to Rp1.715 billion in 2023,” BPDPKS President Director Eddy Abdurrachman said in a press statement on Monday (03/6/2024).

According to Eddy, the replanting fund last year was distributed to 21,910 smallholders for replanting of 52,012 hectares. “The total replanting fund distribution has included for replanting partnership program of 4,928 Ha or 9.3% of the total acreage under the total replanting program in 2023,” said Eddy.

He said that despite the significant increase of achievement in 2023 compared to that of 2022, it is still far from expectation. “The target set for BPDPKS is 70,000 Ha. That means the realization of replanting last year was only 75.7% of the set target,” he said. (*)
