BPDPKS, AII Collaborate To Market Palm Researches

JAKARTA –  Many researches on palm oil have been conducted by universities. But the valuation and commercialization of the researches are not yet adequately implemented with the aim to support the development of Indonesian palm oil industries from upstream to downstream.

The Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Board (BPDPKS), in cooperation with the Association of Indonesian Inventors (AII), will conduct the valuation and commercialization of technologies resulted from the researches on palm oil under the Palm Oil Research Grant (GRS) during 2021-2023.

“We strengthen the capacity of inventors to make inventions, and to market their inventions,” AII Chairman Prof Didiek Hadjar Goenadi said during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (02/07/2024).

He said that the cooperation of BPDPKS and AII to conduct valuation and commercialization of technologies resulted from researches have been implemented since 2021-2022. The activities, which were financed by BPDPKS, were then continued with the second stage cooperation in 2022-2023.

During GRS 2021-2023, there were 16  inventions which were ready for commercialization and most of the researches were conducted by universities. The inventions include Mixed Matrix Membrane based on zoelite templated carbon for separation of CO2 from Biogas Palm Oil Mill Effluent from LPPM ITS.

Other inventions were derived from researches conducted by the research teams of the University of Indonesia (UI), LPPM ITB, UGM, PLN institute of technology, Airlangga University (Unair), IPB University, and Lampung University (Unila).  (*)
