PRODUCTION STAYS HIGH, EXPORTS DROP

JAKARTA – Production of CPO in July 2025 reached 5,113 thousand tons, increasing 6.00% from 4,823 thousand tons in the previous month. Production of PKO in July 2025 also rose by 6.00% from 465 thousand tons to 493 thousand tons. By year on year (YoY) until July 2025, production of CPO+PKO in 2025 reached 33,495 thousand tons or an increase of around 11.11% from the production in 2024 at 30,146 thousand tons.

Total local consumption saw a slight decrease. The consumption for oleochemical dropped to 185 thousand tons or -3.65% from that of the previous month at 192 thousand tons. The consumption for biodiesel production decreased to 1,051 thousand tons or -2.69% from that of the previous month at 1,080 thousand tons. The consumption for foods also dropped to 798 thousand tons from 800 thousand tons at the previous month or a decrease of -0.25%.

Total exports of palm oil products in July declined to 3,537 thousand tons or -1.92% from exports at the previous month at 3,606 thousand tons.

The largest drop of exports was seen in processed palm oil, which decreased from 2,599 thousand tons to 2,307 thousand tons in July (-11,26%), followed by processed PKO from 167 thousand tons to 164 thousand tons in July (-1.70%), while exports of CPO rose from 418 thousand tons to 626 thousand tons in July (49.75%), followed by export increase of oleochemical from 420 thousand tons to 438 thousand tons in July (4.33%).

Based on destination country, export increase in July 2025 was seen to India (126 thousand tons), Pakistan (118 thousand tons), Bangladesh (26 thousand tons). Export decrease was seen to China (-165 thousand tons), Africa (-105 thousand tons), EU-27 (-53 thousand tons), Russia (-51 thousand tons), Malaysia (-38 thousand tons), and USA (-7 thousand tons).

The export value of palm oil products in July 2025 increased from US$ 3.636 billion in June 2025 to US$ 3.690 billion in July 2025 or an increase of 1.46%. By year on year (YoY) until July 2025, the export value in 2025 reached US$ 20.966 billion or an increase of 41.59% from the export value in 2024 at US$ 14.808 billion.

The increase of export value was due to the increase of average price of palm oil from US$ 1,003/ton Cif Rotterdam during January-July 2024 to US$ 1,191/ton Cif Rotterdam during January-July 2025.

With the initial stock in June 2025 at 2,530 thousand tons, production of CPO+PKO increased to 5,606 thousand tons, local consumption dropped to 2,034 thousand tons and export decreased to 3,537 thousand tons, stock by the end of July 2025 rose to 2,568 thousand tons. (*)
