GAPKI, AngoNesia Sign MoU To Strengthen Palm Collaboration

TANGERANG – The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Angola–Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AngoNesia) during the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025 on 15 – 19 October 2025 in ICE BSD City, Tangerang. The MoU is aimed to expand economic cooperation between Indonesia and Republic of Angola, especially in the palm oil sector.

The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Angola–Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AngoNesia) during the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025.

Both sides agree to strengthen collaboration in palm oil industry through exchange of business and industrial information, and implementation of a variety of other cooperations.

The agreement was signed by:

  • Mr. Cláudio David Pestana Camenha, Presidente AngoNesia, representing the first party, and
  • Mr. Eddy Martono, Chairman of GAPKI, representing the second party.

The MoU is aimed at encouraging cooperations in various sectors, such as:

  • Exchanging of information on palm oil industry;
  • Conducting seminar and joint  promotion to attract investments and intensifying transfer of technology;
  • Facilitating trade of palm oil products between Indonesia and Angola;
  • Strengthening network of business players in the two countries.

Based on the MoU, GAPKI and AngoNesia are committed to collaborating actively to increase trade and investments in the palm oil sector. Both sides will also encourage mutually beneficial relations among related business players and industries in Indonesia and Angola.

The agreement will last for three years since the day of signing and can be extended based on approval of both sides. The MoU is not legally binding, but it stands as an important foundation for development of concrete cooperation in the future.

GAPKI Chairman Eddy Martono stated that the cooperation is part of strategic efforts to expand export market of Indonesian palm oil products to African countries.

“African market has big potential for Indonesia’s palm oil products. Through partnership with AngoNesia, we hope to open new market access and strengthen Indonesia’s position as the world’s largest producer of palm oil,” said Eddy.

Meanwhile, the representatives of AngoNesia said that they warmly welcome the collaboration as a concrete step in strengthening economic relations between Angola and Indonesia.

The signing of the MoU was conducted on the sidelines of Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025, the largest trade exhibition and promotion in Indonesia. The collaboration between GAPKI and AngoNesia is one of the important achievements during the international event, marking the strengthening of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy in Africa. (*)
