IPOC Reaches New Milestone, 28 Countries’ Delegations Take Part

NUSA DUA, BALI – The Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) 2025 had reached a new milestone in terms of number of participants. The 21st IPOC, which is Indonesia’s largest palm oil conference, broke the record for the highest number of participants in its more than two decades of history.

A total of 1,545 participants attended the international conference in person at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), making the global forum as the largest so far in terms of participants during its history of more than 21 years.

The year 2025 stands as a special momentum for the Indonesian palm oil industry. The steering committee recorded a significant increase in attendance compared to the previous year, signaling growing global confidence in Indonesia’s role in the global palm oil market.

The number of 1,545 participants surpassed those of previous years, showing a strong indicator that IPOC has developed into a global barometer for the direction of global palm oil policy.

Besides highest participants, the IPOC 2025 also attracted delegates from 28 countries, reflecting an expanding reach of the conference.

Several countries that sent delegations include:

  • India
  • China
  • Malaysia
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Netherlands
  • Germany
  • New Zealand
  • United States
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • and various other palm oil producing and consuming countries.

The conference’s diversity of participants demonstrates the strategic importance of the palm oil industry in global trade and energy relations.

The increase of participants at IPOC 2025 was influenced by several key factors:

  • increasing uncertainty of global market due to a number of factors, which include President Trump’s tariff policy and the implementation of the European Union Deforestation-free regulation (EUDR),
  • the need for global companies to secure certainty of the supply of Indonesian palm oil,
  • and high interest in industry innovations such as biodiesel 40 percent (B40) program and the planned implementation of B50.

Many participants wanted to gain  firsthand information on Indonesia’s policy direction as the world’s largest palm oil producer and exporter.

IPOC Chairperson, Mona Surya, stated that the high number of participants reflected the importance of IPOC as a forum for global dialogue and networking.

“The participants’ enthusiasm this year was extraordinary. The networks formed at IPOC have always been the lifeblood of this conference,” said Mona.

With a record-high number of participants, the IPOC 2025 has become a meeting place for:

  • palm oil exporters and producers,
  • global buyers from various countries,
  • commodity market investors and analysts,
  • academics and researchers,
  • and national and international policymakers.

This high attendance strengthens Indonesia’s position as a center for global discussions on the future of palm oil and renewable energy.

The presence of 1,545 participants from 28 countries is not only an achievement for the committee but also stands as an evidence that the world views Indonesia as a key player in determining the dynamics of the global palm oil industry.

With such a large scale of international participation, IPOC 2025 confirms its role as one of the most influential commodity conferences in the world. (*)
