PRODUCTION, CONSUMPTION, AND EXPORT DROP
Production of CPO in September 2025 reached 3,932 thousand tons, a decrease of -22.32% from the previous month at 5,062 thousand tons. Production of PKO in September also declined to 366 thousand tons from 481 thousand tons. Year on year (YoY) until September, production of CPO+PKO in 2025 reached 43,335 thousand tons or an increase of around 11.30% from the production in 2024 at 38,937 thousand tons. The total domestic consumption saw a decrease from 2,100 thousand tons in August to 2,053 thousand tons in September.
The largest decrease was seen in the consumption for biodiesel, which dropped to 1,070 thousand tons or
-3.69% from that of the previous month at 1,111 thousand tons. The consumption for foods also dropped to 793 thousand tons from 806 thousand tons at the previous month or a decrease of -1.61%. But the consumption for oleochemical rose by 3.83% to 190 thousand tons from 183 thousand tons at the previous month.
Total export of palm oil products in September dropped to 2,200 thousand tons or -36.65% from the export at the previous month at 3,473 thousand tons. The largest decrease was seen in the processed palm oil, which decreased to 1,573 thousand tons from 2,343 thousand tons in September (-32.86%), followed by CPO that decreased to 91 thousand tons from 494 thousand tons (-81.58%) and oleochemical which dropped to 93 thousand tons from 199 thousand tons (-53.27%).
Based on destination country, the decrease of exports in September from that of the previous month was seen to, among others, India (-409 thousand tons), China (-212 thousand tons), Malaysia (-144 thousand tons), Africa (-143 thousand tons), Pakistan (-123 thousand tons), USA (-73 thousand tons), EU-27 (-50 thousand tons), Bangladesh (-26 thousand tons), and Middle East (-24 thousand tons). Meanwhile, the increase of exports was seen to Russia (18 thousand tons).
The export value in September saw a decrease from US$ 3.819 billion in August to US$ 2.528 billion in September or a decrease of -33.80%.
Based on year on year (YoY) as of September, the value of exports in 2025 reached US$ 27.313 billion, an increase of 39.85% from the exports in 2024 at US$ 19.530 billion. The increase of export value was resulted from the increase of average price during January-September 2025 to US$ 1,210/ton Cif Rotterdam, as compared to the average price during January-September 2024 at US$ 1,020/ton Cif Rotterdam.
With initial stock in September at 2,543 thousand tons, production of CPO+PKO dropped to 4,298 thousand tons, domestic consumption decreased to 2,053 thousand tons and exports dropped to 2,200 thousand tons, final stock in September 2025 increased to 2,592 thousand tons. (*)
