JAKARTA – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Business Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik said that all publicly listed companies in the stock exchange are expected to start design their own road map toward reaching the target of net zero emission (NZE).

He said that such requirement is increasingly important as investors, especially the foreign ones, have no longer focused only on financial performance, but also on the aspects of environment, social, and corporate governance (ESG).
“We ask all of the publicly listed companies to start paying attention to the factors of environment. But I believe that many listed companies have already designed their own road map to realize the NZE target,” Jeffrey Hendrik said on Monday (18/02/2024.
According to him, the carbon exchange will continually conduct discussions and socializations among the listed companies and other related stakeholders.
All companies listed in the IDX has been continually invited for discussions and participations in taking advantage of the operation of the carbon exchange, which can help them in reaching the target of net zero emission.
“Regarding the carbon exchange, until now there have been 48 service users, as compared to only 15 users when it was launched on 26 September 2023,” said Jeffrey.
According to him, in 2024 the IDX targets to have 96 service users of the carbon exchange from the private sector, the state-owned companies (BUMN) and others.
“This year we raise the target by adding 50. So, we hope by the end of 2024 there will be at least 96 service users,” said Jeffrey. (*)
