“For the purpose, the KLHK will keep trying to comply with the prevailing regulations in other ministries and institutions and we try to syncronize them with those in the KLHK,” said Siti.

She said the next strategic step is concerned with efforts to strengthen the implementing units of mapping in regions. Then, improving the standard of digital data, which consists of quality and quantity, the technology and infrastructure, and the human resources.

KLHK also optimizes its implementation through the system of geospatial information (SIGAP), which is the operation of thematic geospatial information, and data source of forestry information.

SIGAP manages 98 themes of geospatial information, which is derived from various sources and equipped with data security and confidentiality devices. “Besides, SIGAP is also open source that can be openly accessed by the general public,” said the minister. (*)
