JAKARTA – The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) stated that Indonesia’s export of crude palm oil (CPO) from Indonesia is still in normal condition, although it was previously feared to be impacted by the conflict between Iran and Israel but now it has subsided.

GAPKI Chairman Eddy Martono said that as of the end of June 2025 there was no disruption of CPO export from Indonesia. “As of now our palm oil exports are still safe. Despite the conflict of Iran and Israel, there has been no disruption,” Eddy said on Wednesday (25/6/2025).
Previously, there were concerns that the conflict in the Middle East will cause a reduction of demand from export destination countries, which would reduce the shipping volume of CPO and derivative products from Indonesia.
Based on data from GAPKI, the exports of CPO and processed products in April 2025 saw a significant decrease by 39% to only 1.77 million tons. In March 2025, the export volume was still at 2.87 million tons.
The largest drop was seen in the exports of processed palm oil, which only amounted to 1.24 million tons, a decrease of 41% from the previous month at 2.12 million tons. The export of oleochemical also saw a decrease from 407 thousand tons to 368 thousand tons during the same period.
Despite the export decrease, national production has shown a positive trend. During January – April 2025, total production of CPO and PKO reached 18.03 million tons. The production rose by 0.85% compared to that of the same period in 2024.
The price of CPO at the global market also saw a decline. During trading on Tuesday (24/6), the price of CPO at Malaysia Futures Exchange for September 2025 delivery weakened by 3.39% to MYR3,986 per ton. It was the lowest since 13 June 2025 and the highest daily drop since 04 April 2025. (*)
