GUANGZHOU, CHINA – The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) has recently taken part in the 16th China International Cereals & Oils Industry Summit 2025 as part of its continual efforts to strengthen its strategic role in the global trade diplomacy. The oils industry summit is an important event for Indonesia to promote the palm oil industries at international stage, especially on the issues of export and sustainability.

Held in Guangzhou, China, the forum brings together all stakeholders of foods and renewable energy industries from various countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Attending the global event as the only representative from Indonesia, GAPKI seized the opportunities during the main sessions to showcase the strategic position of Indonesia’s palm oil industries in the global supply chain of vegetable oils.
In the session of Global Palm Oil Supply, GAPKI featured Dr. Fadhil Hasan as the main speaker. He delivered a presentation entitled “Indonesian Palm Oil Export Policies and Sustainability”, which elaborates Indonesian policy on palm oil exports and its application based on the international standard of sustainability.
His presentation also covers the contribution of palm oil industries to the global needs of food and energy, and the importance of collaboration between producing countries and consuming countries.
As one of major global forums of vegetable oils industries, the China Oils Summit 2025 highlighted important issues such as availability of supply, trading flow, and global regulations. During the global forum, challenges and opportunities of vegetable oils, especially palm oil, came up as the main topic of discussions among participating countries.
GAPKI’s participation in the forum is part of continual efforts to pursue palm oil diplomacy for Indonesian palm oil industries.
Besides dialog between national industry players and global players, GAPKI has also emphasized that Indonesian palm oil industries play an important role in strengthening the global food and energy resilience.
As the biggest association of palm oil industries in Indonesia, GAPKI stays committed to promoting exports of sustainable palm oil, expanding international cooperation, and educating the global market on the importance of palm oil for green economic development. (*)
