PRODUCTION AND EXPORTS STRENGTHEN, STOCK DECLINES

JAKARTA — CPO production in October 2025 reached 4,352 thousand tons, an increase of 10.68% from that of the previous month at 3,932 thousand tons. PKO production in October also increased to 405 thousand tons from 366 thousand tons at the previous month. Based on year on year (YoY) until October, production of CPO+PKO in 2025 reached 48,092 thousand tons or an increase of around 9.85% from the production in 2024 at 43,780 thousand tons.

Total domestic consumption saw an increase from 2,053 thousand tons in September 2025 to 2,227 thousand tons in October. The largest increase was seen in the consumption for biodiesel production to 1,200 thousand tons or 12.15% from that of the previous month at 1,070 thousand tons. The consumption for foods also rose to 835 thousand tons from 793 thousand tons at the previous month or an increase of 5.30%, while the consumption for oleochemical rose by 1.05% to 192 thousand tons from 190 thousand tons at the previous month.

After seeing a significant decrease in September 2025, total exports of palm oil products in October surged to 2,796 thousand tons or 27.09% from the exports in September at 2,200 thousand tons. The largest export increase was seen in the processed palm oil, which rose by 29.88% from 1,573 thousand tons in September to 2,043 thousand tons in October, followed by oleochemical from 443 thousand tons to 506 thousand tons (14.22%), CPO rose to 138 thousand tons from 91 thousand tons (51.65%), and processed PKO to 108 thousand tons from 93 thousand tons (16.13%). Based on year on year (YoY) as of October 2025, the exports of palm oil products in 2025 reached 27,691 thousand tons or an increase of around 11.49% higher than the exports in 2024 at 24,837 thousand tons.

Based on destination country, the increase of exports in October from that of the previous month was seen, among others to China (203 thousand tons), Pakistan (131 thousand tons), Africa (52 thousand tons), EU-27 (50 thousand tons), India (38 thousand tons), Bangladesh (32 thousand tons), and Middle East (28 thousand tons), while export decrease was seen to USA (-3.2 thousand tons) and Malaysia (-0.3 thousand tons).

The export value of palm oil products in October 2025 saw an increase from US$2.528 billion in September to US$ 3.292 billion in October or an increase of 30.22%. Year on year (YoY) until October, export value in 2025 reached US$ 30.605 billion, which was higher by 36.19% from exports in 2024 at US$ 22.472 billion. The increase of export value was resulted from a combination of volume increase and the increase of average price during January-October 2025 at US$1,217/ton Cif Rotterdam, which was higher than the average price during January-October in 2024 at US$ 1,038/ton Cif Rotterdam.

With initial stock in October 2025 at 2,592 thousand tons, production of CPO+PKO at 4,757 thousand tons, domestic consumption at 2,227 thousand tons and exports 2,796 thousand tons, then final stock by the end of October dropped to 2,333 thousand tons from 2,592 at the previous month. (*)
