<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cUntil now more than 1,500 business players from 35 countries are expected to attend the palm oil conference and exhibition of IPOC 2022 and 2023 Price Outlook,\u201d said Mona Surya, Chairperson of IPOC 2022, in a press statement on Thursday, 27 October 2022.<\/p>\n
Mona said that after two years being organized through online due to Covid-19 pandemic, this year the 18th IPOC will be held as an offline event in Bali. The business players who involve in the global supply chain of palm oil are very enthusiastic in participating in the world\u2019s largest palm oil conference, which will discuss, among others, the price outlook of crude palm oil (CPO) in 2023.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe number of conference participants is more than 1,200 business players, while the others are exhibitors and visitors of the global event,\u201d said Mona.<\/p>\n
GAPKI Chairman Joko Supriyono said that \u00a0IPOC 2022 is a very strategic event and necessary for palm oil players to analyze the global market condition of palm oil next year. The more so, as the imbalance of supply and demand as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war will still reign the global market of vegetable oils next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re certainly concerned with the geopolitical condition in Europe. We hope the war will soon end. Amid such global uncertainty, the palm oil has become a savior in maintaining the stability of global food security,\u201d said Joko.<\/p>\n
The geopolitical condition in Europe will become one of the topics to be discussed during the first day of the conference. Present during the first day session will be, among others, Andri Hadi (Indonesia\u2019s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and European Union), Prof Pietro Paganini (John Cabot University, Rome), and Khor Yu Leng (Singaporean Economist).<\/p>\n
During the second day\u2019s sessions will be addressed by global commodity analysts, including James Fry (LMC International) and Thomas Mielke (Oil World). They will talk about the factors that will affect the supply and demand at the global market of vegetable oils.<\/p>\n
Other commodity analysts who will address the sessions include Nagaraj Meda (TransGraph) and Dorab Mistry (Godrej International Ltd).<\/p>\n
Mona Surya said that IPOC 2022 will be formally opened by Economic Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto who will also deliver his keynote speech during the first day session. \u201cBesides global issues, IPOC will also discuss the dynamic growth of palm oil industry during 2022 in Indonesia. The palm oil policy in Indonesia will also affect the supply and demand of palm oil at the global market of vegetable oils,\u201d said Mona.<\/p>\n
Besides the conference and exhibition, the IPOC conference will be marked with other sideline events, which include golf tournament and networking night for the conference participants. (*)<\/p>\n
