The conference, which is the <em>G20 Sustainable Vegetable Oils Conference (<\/em>G20 SVOC)<em>,\u00a0<\/em> is initiated by Indonesia\u2019s economic coordinating ministry in cooperation with the agriculture ministry, the <em>Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries\u00a0<\/em>(CPOPC), the oil palm plantation fund management board (BPDPKS), and the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gapki.id\/en\/news\/22210\/ipoc-2022-g20-svoc-held-concurrently-first-time-in-bali\/tofan_mahdi_g20v_ipocjpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22211\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22211 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/allies-en\/uploads\/2022\/11\/tofan_mahdi_g20v_ipocJPG.jpg?resize=937%2C564&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"937\" height=\"564\" data-id=\"22211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2022\/11\/tofan_mahdi_g20v_ipocJPG.jpg?w=937&amp;ssl=1 937w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2022\/11\/tofan_mahdi_g20v_ipocJPG.jpg?resize=300%2C181&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2022\/11\/tofan_mahdi_g20v_ipocJPG.jpg?resize=768%2C462&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 937px) 100vw, 937px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsually, each of the vegetable oil commodities, such as palm oil, sunflower and soybean, has their own conference. But now, we invite all of the vegetable oil industrial players to meet in one forum, which is also attended by the representatives of their respective producing countries and their associations,\u201d the CPOPC Secretary General Rizal Affandi Lukman said during a press conference on Friday, 28 October 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The G20 SVOC will function as a platform in which the CPOPC will open an opportunity to establish cooperation with the producing and consuming countries of other vegetable oils in supplying sustainable vegetable oils amid the global challenges of climate change and the commitment to reach the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmid disruption of global supply of vegetable oils due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and Russia \u2013 Ukraine conflict, the sustainability of palm oil has enabled it to continue fulfilling the global needs of food and energy. The fact has been supported by the consistency of demand at the global market of vegetable oils, including from countries which are trying to limit the import of palm oil based on the availability of supply,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Musdhalifah Machmud, Deputy In Charge of Food and Agribusiness Coordination at the Economic Coordinating Ministry, said that the G20 SVOC is also aimed to formulate action plans for each stakeholder to raise productivity, guarantee of fulfilling global need, and improving the supply chain of vegetable oils. The G20 SVOC will become an important opportunity to formulate guidelines for communication and cooperation on a wider scale by involving all stakeholders of the vegetable oils.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe G20 SVOC will create positive impact in driving up economy, particularly in the sectors of transportation and tourism through the presence of all participants on site during the conference. Besides, the G20 SVOC will also stand as a stepping stone for Indonesia to continually involve in discussions and global actions to solve various problems and challenges facing the global society,\u201d Deputy Musdhalifah said.<\/p>\n<p>Tofan Mahdi, the Communication Division Head of GAPKI, said that GAPKI support all activities of G20 SVOC, which is organized concurrently with the 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Indonesian Palm Oil\u00a0Conference\u00a0and 2023 Price Outlook (IPOC) in Nusa Dua, Bali.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor journalists, the IPOC and G20 SVOC will provide interesting information regarding the global market of vegetable oils, especially palm oil,\u201d said Tofan.<\/p>\n<p>G20 SVOC will feature 17 speakers, representing various vegetable oils from the government, industrial players and practitioners.
