JAKARTA <\/strong>\u2013 Palm oil is one of the world\u2019s main vegetable oils as the source of foods, which is the largest in terms of production, consumption and trading in the world market.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Palm Oil Indonesia reported in its website recently that there are at least five advantages owned by the palm oil industry as a source of vegetable oil-based foods for the global community.<\/p>\n

First<\/em><\/strong>, palm oil has a relatively big volume, which is even the largest in the global market of vegetable oils. In 2021, palm oil production contributed 43 percent of the world\u2019s total production of four major vegetable oils.<\/p>\n

Second<\/em><\/strong>, as a source of foods, the palm oil has a high content of vitamin A and vitamin E. It also has a balance of fatty acid content that makes it good for the human health.<\/p>\n

Third<\/em><\/strong>, the palm oil supply is relatively stable from month to month along the year. Palm oil in the forms of crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) is produced from oil palm trees\u2019 fruit bunches. After the age of 4 years, the oil palm trees will produce fresh fruit bunches (FFB) that can be harvested twice a month along the year. It means, oil palm trees can produce oil at stable volume every month along the year until reaching the age of 25 years old.<\/p>\n

Fourth<\/em><\/strong>, the palm oil is widely used as raw material in many industries, including as oleo food complex<\/em> to produce cooking oil, margarine, shortening<\/em>, specialty fat<\/em>, chocolate, snacks<\/em>, noodle, biscuits, bread and other food products.<\/p>\n

Fifth<\/em><\/strong>, the palm oil is a cheaper and more affordable vegetable oil compared to other vegetable oils which are relatively more expensive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has shown that the palm oil plays an important role in feeding the<\/em> global community<\/em>. In facing the global food crisis predicted to hit the world during the period of 2022-2024, the palm oil industry has become a key solution in providing foods for the global community,\u201d Palm Oil Indonesia said in its report.
