FAO data (2013) shows the fertilizer use rate in each country\/region (Table 2.3).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gapki.id\/en\/news\/18630\/oil-palm-plantations-use-inorganic-fertilizer-higher-than-other-vegetable-oils-myths-facts-2-03\/fertilizer-consumptionin-various-countries\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18631\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18631\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Fertilizer-consumptionin-various-countries.png?resize=811%2C830&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"811\" height=\"830\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Fertilizer-consumptionin-various-countries.png?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Fertilizer-consumptionin-various-countries.png?resize=293%2C300&amp;ssl=1 293w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 811px) 100vw, 811px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In general, the countries with the highest use of fertilizer for agriculture are European countries (which are also producers of sunflower oil, rapeseed oil and soybean oil). The use of fertilizer generally has a correlation with the pollution from residues of fertilizer, both in soil and in water. The fertilizer consumption per hectare in Indonesia\u2019s agricultural land including oil palm plantations is still relatively low. The relatively low use of fertilizers also means the pollution resulting from the residues of fertilizers is lower. Vegetable oils that use most fertilizers can produce greater pollution in water and soil. This can be calculated by comparing the fertilizer consumption and soil and water pollution (residues) in the production of every ton of vegetable oil (Table 2.4).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gapki.id\/en\/news\/18630\/oil-palm-plantations-use-inorganic-fertilizer-higher-than-other-vegetable-oils-myths-facts-2-03\/comparison-of-input-and-soil_water-pollution-among-palm-oil\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18632\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18632\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Comparison-of-input-and-soil_water-pollution-among-palm-oil.png?resize=807%2C534&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"807\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Comparison-of-input-and-soil_water-pollution-among-palm-oil.png?w=787&amp;ssl=1 787w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Comparison-of-input-and-soil_water-pollution-among-palm-oil.png?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gapki.id\/en\/dir-site\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Comparison-of-input-and-soil_water-pollution-among-palm-oil.png?resize=768%2C508&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Based on the above data, soybean oil uses the highest amount of fertilizers NPK, pesticides and fossil energy. In the second place is rapeseed oil. As a result, pollution from the residues of fertilizers and pesticides in soil and water is also higher in plantations producing soybean oil and rapeseed oil.
