It was lower by 13.0% compared to the production in May 2023 at 5,080 thousand tons. The high production in May was caused by the increase of unharvested fresh fruit bunches (FFB) in April as a result of Eid Al-Fitr holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Year on Year (YoY) until June 2023, there was an increase of production by 16.1% or 3,795 thousand tons from 23,500 thousand tons in 2022 to 27,295 thousand tons in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The total domestic consumption in June 2023 reached 1,963 thousand tons or higher by 8.0% from the domestic consumption in May 2023 at 1,817 tons. The increase was caused by the increase of CPO consumption for biodiesel production at 28.3% or 197 thousand tons, from 696 thousand tons in May 2023 to 893 thousand tons in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, consumption for cooking oil and oleochemical saw a decrease of 4.7% and 4.0% respectively. The consumption for cooking oil in June 2023 reached 880 thousand tons and oleo-chemical at 190 thousand tons, while in May the consumption for cooking oil reached 923 thousand tons and oleochemical at 198 thousand tons.<\/p>\n<p>Total exports in June 2023 reached 3,450 thousand tons or an increase of 54.7% compared to the exports in May 2023 at 2,230 thousand tons. The largest increase was seen in the export of processed CPO at 2,487 thousand tons, or an increase of 52.4% from the export in May 2023 at 1,632 thousand tons. The export of CPO also saw a fantastic increase by 265.2% from 138 thousand tons in May 2023 to 504 thousand tons in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The increase of palm oil exports in June 2023 raised the export value by 40.2% from US$2,052 million in May to US$2,877 million in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The largest export increase was seen to China, India and Pakistan, which respectively rose to 391.6 thousand tons, 390.6 thousand tons and 133.0 thousand tons. The increase of exports was also seen to the USA by 35.5% from 145.6 thousand tons in May 2023 to 197.3 thousand tons in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the European Union (EU) Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the exports to EU countries rose by 23.6% to 311.4 thousand tons in June 2023 from 251.9 thousand tons in May 2023.
