JAKARTA \u2013 Plantation industry players grouped in the Indonesian Association of Professional Plantation Practitioners (P3PI) will hold the 2nd<\/sup> Techonology and Talent Palm Oil Mill Indonesia (TPOMI) event 2024 next July in Bandung, West Java. During the event the industry players will discuss about new technologies, which include the new technology to increase the extraction rate of palm oil and reduce losses during production process.<\/p>\n

The P3PI\u2019s Palm Oil Mills Division Head Posma Sinurat said during a press conference and discussion on the plan to organize the event in Jakarta on Saturday (01\/06\/2024) that during the event the participants will have the chance to get technical and strategic knowledge which is useful for the operations of plantation companies. The event, which is organized in cooperation with Media Perkebunan,<\/em> will have the theme \u201cUpdating Techonology of Palm Oil Mills in Indonesia\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event is a must to attend for the oil palm industry players, as it will offer participants latest information and knowledge on the technology to process palm fresh fruit bunches. The palm industry players need to know the latest development of technology for palm oil processing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently, foreign products of technology have penetrated the Indonesian market. That\u2019s one factor that has caused our local technological products less developed. We\u2019re ready to promote the local products as long as they are competitive in quality and prices,\u201d said Posman.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Biodiesel Expert from Bandung Institute of Technology (IPB), Tatang Hernas said during the discussion that although Indonesia is the world\u2019s largest producer and exporter of palm oil, it lags behind in the technology of palm oil processing.<\/p>\n

According to Tatang, as the largest producer of biodiesel, Indonesia should have the best technology in biodiesel production. \u201cBut in fact, Indonesia still lags behind,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I support the conference and exhibition of TPOMI 2024, which will be held in Bandung next July. Through this event, Indonesia can continually update its palm oil technology with the latest one,\u201d said Tatang.<\/p>\n

He is confident that through the TPOMI 2024 there will be many discussions and breakthroughs on the palm oil technology that will allow all players to improve the processing technology of palm oil into various products. \u201cWe need to keep updating our technology to allow our national economy to continually grow through the palm oil sector,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Palm Oil Consultant Bonar Saragih said during the occasion that the processing industries, especially the palm oil mills, are facing a complex challenge in increasing the oil extraction rate (OER) and reducing the losses during processing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe oil losses have so far averaged at between 1.3 and 1.7 percent,\u201d he said. (*)<\/p>\n
