We managed to reduce carbon emissions and deforestation. As of 2023 we’ve managed to cut our deforestation rate,” KLHK’s Director General of sustainable forest management, Dida Migfar Ridha said after the opening ceremony of the Twenty-Seventh meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Forestry (ASOF27) on Thursday (18/07/2024) in Vimala Hills, Bogor, West Java.

Dida said that Indonesia’s achievement in reducing deforestation has got an international recognition from the international organization, the World Resources Institute (WRI). “It’s not just our claim. We got recognition from the World Resources Institute for such achievement,” he said.

“Previously, we declared our own data of deforestation.
