PALM OIL EXPORT DROPS, STOCK RISES<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

JAKARTA \u2013 Production of CPO in September 2024 reached 4,021 thousand tons, an increase of 0.88% compared to production in JuIy at 3,986 thousand tons. The production of PKO also rose to 394 thousand tons, from 391 thousand tons in August. Year on year (YoY) until September 2024, production of CPO and PKO reached 38,937 thousand tons or a decrease of 4.62% from that of the same period in 2023 at 40,823 thousand tons.<\/p>\n

Total domestic consumption declined to 1,989 thousand tons in September, from 2,060 thousand tons in August 2024. The consumption of palm oil for foods decreased from 898 thousand tons in August 2024 to 865 thousand tons in September 2024, for biodiesel dropped to 934 thousand tons in September from 979 thousand tons in August. The consumption for oleo-chemical rose to 190 thousand tons in September from 183 thousand tons in August 2024.<\/p>\n

Year on year (YoY) until September, the total domestic consumption in 2024 reached 17,559 thousand tons or an increase of 1.63% from that in 2023 at 17,277 thousand tons. The consumption for foods reached 7,530 thousand tons or a decrease of 4.01% from that of last year at 7,845 thousand tons, for oleo-chemical at 1,674 thousand tons or a decrease of 1.65% from that of previous year at 1,702 thousand tons, and for biodiesel at 8,355 thousand tons or an increase of 8.08% from that of previous year at 7,730 thousand tons.<\/p>\n

Total exports dropped significantly from 2,384 thousand tons in August to 1,860 thousand tons in September or a decrease of 21.97%. The largest export decrease was seen in processed CPO from 1,668 thousand tons in August to 1,373 thousand tons in September (-17.70%), followed by CPO from 222 thousand tons in August to 28 thousand tons in September (-87.26%), while oleo-chemical export dropped from 440 thousand tons in August to 408 thousand tons in September (-7.33%).<\/p>\n

Based on country of destination, the largest decrease of exports was seen to India by 220 thousand tons after seeing an increase of 170 thousand tons at the previous month, to Pakistan dropped 112 thousand tons after an increase of 62 thousand tons at the previous month, and to Middle East dropped 79 thousand tons after an increase of 6 thousand tons at the previous month.<\/p>\n

The increase of exports was seen to USA to 231 thousand tons or an increase of 80 thousand tons after a decrease of 42 thousand tons at the previous week, to Netherlands rose to 155 thousand tons or an increase of 35 thousand tons in September and an increase of 39 thousand tons at the previous month.<\/p>\n

Year on year (YoY) until September, exports to China in 2024 dropped 37.66% from that of the same period in 2023, to India dropped 31.13%, and Bangladesh dropped 73.12%.<\/p>\n

But exports to EU rose by 12.31% from that of last year, to Pakistan rose by 3.98%, and to Russia also increased by 135% from that of last year. Overall, national exports in 2024 during January – September decreased 16.60% if compared to those at the same period in 2023.<\/p>\n

The export value in September reached US$2,183 million or lower by 14.06% compared to that of August at US$2,450 million.
\nYear on year (YoY) until September the export value in 2024 reached US$19,532 million or 15.25% lower than the export value in 2023 at US$23,046 million.<\/p>\n

With production rising by 0.88%, domestic consumption decreasing 3.48% and exports declining 21.97%, then final stock by the end of September 2024 rose to 3,021 thousand tons from 2,450 thousand tons by the end of August 2024. (*)<\/p>\n
