By year on year (YoY) until October , production of CPO and PKO in 2024 reached 43,780 thousand tons or lower by 4.56% than that of the same period in 2023 at 45,776 thousand tons.<\/p>\n<p>Total local consumption rose to 2,083 thousand tons from 1,989 thousand tons in September 2024. The consumption for biodiesel rose to 1,052 thousand tons in October from 934 thousand tons in September 2024 (+12.07%), while the consumption of palm oil for foods dropped from 865 thousand tons in September 2024 to 845 thousand tons in October (-2.31%) and for oleo-chemical decreased to 186 thousand tons in October from 190 thousand tons in September (-2.11%).<\/p>\n<p>By year on year (YoY) until October, total domestic consumption in 2024 reached 19,642 thousand tons or 1.90% higher than that of 2023 at 19,276 thousand tons. Consumption for foods reached 8,375 thousand tons or 3.64% lower than that of last year at 8,680 thousand tons, for oleo-chemical at 1,860 thousand tons or lower by 1.48% than that of the previous year at 1,888 thousand tons, while for biodiesel reached 9,407 thousand tons or higher by 8.01% than that of the previous year at 8,709 thousand tons.<\/p>\n<p>Total exports increased from 2,260 thousand tons in September to 2,888 thousand tons in October or an increase of 27.79%. The biggest increase was seen in the export of processed CPO from 1,573 thousand tons in September to 2,071 thousand tons in October (+31.66%), followed by CPO from 128 thousand tons in September to 345 thousand tons in October (+169.53%), while export of oleo-chemical dropped from 408 thousand tons in September to 354 thousand tons in October (-13,23%).<\/p>\n<p>Based on country of destination, the increase of export in October was seen to India, EU, Africa, Pakistan, Middle East, Bangladesh and Malaysia, while the exports to China and USA dropped. The export to India rose from 242 thousand tons in September to 719 thousand tons in October, while export to EU rose from 230 thousand tons to 294 thousand tons, to Pakistan from 174 thousand tons to 237 thousand tons, Middle East from 112 thousand tons to 171 thousand tons, Bangladesh from 35 thousand tons to 111 thousand tons and Malaysia from 73 thousand tons to 91 thousand tons. Exports to China dropped from 487 thousand tons in September to 437 thousand tons in October, while to USA decreased from 231 thousand tons to 158 thousand tons.<\/p>\n<p>By year on year (YoY) until September, the exports to China in 2024 decreased 33.3% from that of 2023, to India dropped 10.7%, to Bangladesh decreased 26.7% and to Malaysia dropped 34.3% , while to Middle East rose 18.2% and to Pakistan rose 1.3%. Nationally, the exports in 2024 (January \u2013 October) dropped 10.0% compared to that of the same period in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The export value in October reached US$2,943 million or an increase of 34.82% from that of September at US$2,183 million. By year on year (YoY) until September the export value in 2024 reached US$22,472 million or a decrease of 12.2% from that in 2023 at US$25,584 million.
