Press Release<\/strong> PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n CONSUMPTION AND EXPORTS DOWN, STOCKS UP<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Crude Palm Oil (CPO) production in February 2025 reached 3,789 thousand tons, a 1% decrease compared to January 2025, which recorded 3,828 thousand tons. Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) production also declined slightly to 354 thousand tons from 356 thousand tons. As a result, the total CPO and PKO production in February 2025 stood at 4,144 thousand tons, 0.96% lower than the 4,184 thousand tons recorded in January. On a year-on-year (YoY) basis through February 2025, total CPO and PKO production reached 8,327 thousand tons, 6.3% lower than 8,886 thousand tons in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n Total domestic consumption rose by 159 thousand tons, from 1,871 thousand tons in January 2025 to 2,030 thousand tons in February 2025 (up 8.5%). Biodiesel consumption increased from 916 thousand tons to 1,001 thousand tons, while oleochemical consumption declined by 22 thousand tons, from 197 thousand tons to 175 thousand tons. Meanwhile, food consumption rose by 96 thousand tons, from 758 thousand tons to 854 thousand tons. On a YoY basis through February, domestic consumption in 2025 reached 3,902 thousand tons, 2.5% higher than 3,807 thousand tons in 2024.<\/p>\n Food consumption stood at 1,612 thousand tons, up 2.8% from the previous year; oleochemical consumption reached 372 thousand tons, also up 2.8%; while biodiesel consumption totaled 1,917 thousand tons, a 2.2% increase from the previous year.<\/p>\n Total exports in February 2025 reached 2,803 thousand tons, up by 843 thousand tons compared to January 2025, which recorded 1,960 thousand tons. A 6.2% decrease occurred in oleochemical exports, from 388 thousand tons in January to 364 thousand tons in February.
